The school year is about to start. Do I need to manually change each student's grade level? No. The Hallways Student Update Utility is now available. This utility will allow you to move any or all students up a grade level. It can also be used to change multiple students' status at a single time. The Hallways Student Update Utility can be downloaded here. You will need the user name and password that came with your software. Lost the info? Write us at hallways@ihatepaperwork.com.
When importing student data, I get an error message that the wizard is not installed. Probable Cause: Your computer is missing updates and/or a file. Solution: 1. Ensure that your computer has all current Windows updates. This includes critical and important updates for Office 2003. 2. Download the following file: www.ihatepaperwork.com/hallways/support/users/ACWZLIB.MDE. You'll need the user name and password that was sent to you with your software. Lost the info? Write us at hallways@ihatepaperwork.com. Save the ACWZLIB.MDE file to your computer in the following directory: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\. If you are running a 64-bit computer, save it to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office 11.
I get an error message that the "Object or class does not support the set of events..." There are two possible causes for this issue:
1: We have identified this error as occurring when using Hallways on a computer with a Windows 7 or 8 environment, particularly Windows 64-bit. Windows 7 and 8 are missing files necessary for date-dependent reports to load properly in Hallways. Solution: We have issued Hallways Build 4.0.0.3, which has been adapted to work around the missing files. You'll need the user name and password that was emailed to you when you registered or updated your software. Lost the email? Write us at hallways@ihatepaperwork.com.
2: This can also occur when multiple instances of Microsoft Access are installed on a computer running Windows Vista or later. Solution: Hallways uses Microsoft Access 2003 Runtime, which comes with the software. To avoid this error message, uninstall any other versions of Access on your computer.
When I start Hallways, I get a message that C:\Program Files\Hallways\Inf\xxx.mdb is not a valid path. Probable Cause: You are using a 64-bit computer, which installed Hallways to a different location. Solution: Move the informational databases to the correct location. Learn how >>
I can't change the system category when I'm reviewing appointments. Probable Cause: Hallways will not allow the system category to be changed after the initial appointment is created. Solution: If the appointment was created in error, delete it and add another appointment.
